At our Brookvale Hairdressing salon, we reckon a great hairstyle can change your whole look and boost your confidence. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Jen, who was looking for a fresh new style. Check out her amazing before and after transformation!

Jen came to us with long, naturally curly hair that had great potential but needed a professional touch to bring out its best. Her hair was in good nick but lacked the shape and style to enhance her curl features and personality.

Consultation and Vision

During our chat, Jen said she wanted a more defined and manageable hairstyle that would go well with her natural cury hair. We discussed a few options and decided on a trendy, yet timeless, curly bob variation with layers that would add volume and definition. Now most girls with curls struggle with gravity and weight and Jen was a classic example of this combination making her hair life more difficult than it should be.

The Transformation Process

Cutting and Shaping: We started by cutting Jen’s curly hair to a manageable length, creating a chic bob that falls just above her shoulders. This length is perfect for adding volume and bounce to her natural curls.

Layering: Next, we added layers to Jen’s curly hair. Layering is essential for curly hair as it removes bulk, enhances natural curl patterns, and adds movement to the hair. Adding shape around the face gives the lift and a beautiful profile shape that gets curly girls noticed.

Styling: After the cut, we styled Jen’s hair using curl-enhancing products by Eleven and diffused it to bring out the best in her curls.  We randomly picked out a few curls with a hot wand to be a bit extra.

At this point, we have to mention Tracey our resident makeup artist also added a few touches using our in-house Australian range Eye of Horus .
